Moda - Field of Flowers - Small Floral Tossed/Golden Rod - 3312 13

Moda - Field of Flowers - Small Floral Tossed/Golden Rod - 3312 13

The inspiration for this collection was a big bouquet of garden flowers, collected in the early fall when everything is at its peak. Katharine used dahlias, zinnias, fennel, feverfew, and more collected from her own garden as the source material for an original linocut print. These patterns were based off the original linocuts and capture the abundance of a garden at the end of the growing season.

Katharine Watson is an artist and printmaker based in Portland, Maine. Katharine grew up in London and Hong Kong, and settled in Portland in 2015 with plans to stay permanently. She approaches most projects the same way, beginning with a sketch that is translated to a linoleum block and then carved by hand. She later prints these designs onto stationery, textiles, ceramics, and other beautiful, usable, everyday goods. Katharine has had her work featured in Vogue and Martha Stewart Living, and has collaborated with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Chronicle Books, and more. When she's not in her studio, she's out gardening with her two dogs, or reading home design magazines with a cup of jasmine tea.
